Huw Golledge is Senior Scientific Programme Manager at the Universities Federation for Animal Welfare (UFAW) and the Humane Slaughter Association (HSA), where he has responsibility for the various scientific research funding programmes of the two charities. He is interested in the application of rigorous scientific investigation to advance our understanding and ultimately to improve the welfare of animals.
Before joining UFAW and the HSA he worked as a researcher at Newcastle University, investigating animal welfare aspects of anaesthesia, analgesia and euthanasia techniques for laboratory rodents.
He is a former member of the UK Animals in Science Committee
