During my stay at Hendrix Genetics I was introduced into the data science world behind animal breeding. I made friends with SNPs, countless A, G, C and Ts and pondered about phenotype predictions. Bram Visser and Bruno Perez battled huge data sets with me and helped me to overcome local minima. Even though Corona prevented me from experiencing a normal company environment, the secondment was a full success for me personally, also because I was able to meet two fellow ESRs: Ismalia Bouba and Maeva Manet.
